Submissions
Generally, we don't like submissions. We started this because we wanted to write. We don't want to read what you write—start your own zine. We're not looking for one-time submitters, but if you'd like to write for us a little more regularly, drop a line. We like people who can appreciate good movies and literature (because, really, all of us are literature nerds); but we're also looking for some of the following:
- Music and movie buffs
- Politically aware (and active) individuals with an open mind and sense of humor—we don't aspire to be a political zine, but again, most of us are very politically-minded
- General craziness
- People who like Wes Anderson films (that could be a deal breaker right there).
Of course, we like diverse people, but those are some points to get started with. Here are some questions to answer if you want to write us:
- What's your favorite movie or book and why?
- What are a few of your favorite bands? Do you have a more ecclectic music taste, or a more focused?
- What's your favorite television show from your childhood?
- Who's your favorite superhero?
- What's your favorite breakfast cereal?
Strong writing skills are needed, of course; but we can edit for spelling and grammar and take care of all the HTML, so don't worry too much about that.
What's that? You want to get PAID? Actually, Pulpexplosion doesn't make any money yet. When/if we start to (it would most likely be through merchandise, which may come one day), then this issue will be discussed. As for now, it's just a chance to be a part of something awesome and sharpen your editorial skills. It's also a lot of fun (if you're into this sort of thing).
